Adding a little Twinkle

Hi all!
I have a series of images to use in a module, each is more or less the same but changes very slightly to illustrate an example.
I wondered is there a way to add a little animation of the top of the section that has changed to draw the users' attention to the change.
Just, something like a pulse, or a little shimmer animation... something like that.
Ideally, I'd like the image still to be fully visible but somehow say "Guys! This bit here!"
Any tips, tricks or ideas would be appreciated!
Thanks!

Hi Margot...
Someone posted an example of this in the beta test...
They took the PowerPoint "4-pointed star" image (if I remember correctly...), and filled it with the "yellow marker pen" colour. No outline. Saved as images, Brought it into SL, and made it quite small.
They then duplicated it to a place a few mm away.
They had each animated to appear/disappear for 0.25 seconds each, and it make exactly the "sparkle" effect you are after, I think.
Have a go and see.

Or you could create an animated GIF in photoshop
Hi Margot,
I had an idea so I tried it. It may be more work than you want to do though. What I did was duplicate the picture and cropped out everything other than what I wanted to highlight. (You could get really fancy and remove the background in Photoshop or PowerPoint). I then placed the cropped picture over the base picture. I needed to increase the transparency of the cropped picture so I could get it positioned exactly right. I then added a glow to the cropped picture. I then played around with when it would show up on the timeline. I decided to add a second copy of the glowing cropped picture so the glow would flash on and off twice.
One more idea for your collection!

Thank you everybody for your answers - I'll experiment and let you know how it goes!
Wow, this is 7 years old! Jill, I hope you see this. Your idea helped me so much! I duplicated then cropped a shiny area on my picture, overlayed it in place, brightened it, animated it, and had it appear and disappear pretty quickly. When you don't know it's coming, it's a perfect twinkle. THANKS TO YOU. ~Marti
Glad to hear it Marti (after all this time)!
Hey everybody, just thought I'd chime in here. First I'd like to say that it's surprising that Storyline 3 still doesn't seem to have any built-in highlight tools. But inspired by this thread, I found something simple that works nicely for me. At the relevant point in the video, I add a rectangle with no fill with a large glow and outline to match. I animate it in with a wheel animation over 1.25 seconds, and it gives a nice "Look here!" effect. And in working with videos, I still haven't found an easy way to add an object for a short duration. The first one I add, I end up going to the end of the timeline, then dragging the endpoint back to where I want it (which takes a long time.) From then on I just duplicate and edit, but it seems like there should be an easier way to say "I want something to appear for 2.5 seconds (not 2.5 minutes.)
There is. Right click it on the timeline, and you will get a dialog box where you can set the start point and duration of the object you click.
Thank you!!! The label of "Timing" wasn't at all obvious to me.
