I've been experiencing issues creating a system tutorial e-learning made up of screencasts. Each screencast has been adding around 10-15mb to the work file, and are around 1 minute long each. Sound has been disabled, and the record size is 720x540.
Are there any other methods to reducing the filesize of the screencasts? It has been difficult to keep the project filesize under 150mb, and it plays laggy when uploaded to our LMS. Publishing with lower quality video and images has resulted in the videos being blacked out and only being revealed when the mouse has scrolled past. I've been using the view mode steps when importing the screencasts into scenes, if that helps :)
Sorry that you're having difficulty with this. I'd love to take a look. Would you be able to share your .story file? What version of Storyline are you using?
Rather than videos, you could try using the screen recording (image) approach. Here's an example of an advanced solution. The benefit of an image approach is that file sizes are much smaller & you don't need to redo the whole video if one screen needs to be swapped. https://blendedminds.com.au/storyline-screencast-plugin/
