This could be me being dumb but it seems I can't animate object states. Example: I want my object to wipe, fade, wheel etc on hover/ select. I click on the animate tab when editing my state but the options are 'greyed out'. Nothing I can do, it seems.
Thanks Matthew - that works perfectly, though I'm sure I applied animations directly to the states previously. In fact I hunted down a video someone posted on this forum where they do exactly that on an older version of Storyline.
I've been wanting to do this as well but I'm not understanding your method of "copy that into the state" ... can you offer the steps that accomplish a transition on a state?

1. Create object
2. Apply animation to object
3. Copy object
4. Edit States
5. Create new state if necessary
6. Paste object into desired state.
7. Click Done Editing states
When the object changes to the desired state, it will do so using the animation.
