Animations in Layers

I frequently use slide layers to add some interactivity to the course. I have successfully added animation to the text boxes and/or captions I use on the layer. Yesterday afternoon I couldn't use animations (entrance - fade in - by paragraph). The part that is not working is the by paragraph. I came in this morning and got one of the slides with layers to function correctly by rebuilding the layers. This was a problem on a second slide, so I copied a layer I rebuilt this morning to the problem slide. Once again I can't get the captions to let me animate by paragraph. This is driving me CRAZY!!!!!
The only thing I have added to my computer recently is Google Chrome, although it is not set as my default browser. I don't see how this could possibly make a difference, but knowing computers?!?
Anyone have a thought?

Hi, Linda -- Let's check a few things first to see if we can rule out some common errors or issues. Please make sure you are working locally as described here, and you may want to try importing the file into a new file. If you are still having issues, you might want to try to repair Storyline to address unexpected or erratic behavior. Also, could you please ensure that you are utilizing the most recent SL2 Update?
