For a few months now, I see an audio issue -- randomly -- where audio just cuts out somewhere random during the play back.
This happens in Storyline when I play the slide. Then, after publishing, the same will happen for learners.
If I edit the audio file, and play the file in the editor, it plays all the way through. But saving and returning to the timeline does not necessarily fix the issue.
This issue has happened both before and after the latest SL update.

Thank you. I will have to check with my client before sharing any of their files. It has occurred on 5 or 6 different projects (.story files). And this has only occurred within the last 4-5 months. At the beginning of the year, I made several Storyline projects, with lots of audio, and did not experience any such troubles. Same computer. Same audio process: add mp3 files slide by slide.

I'm sorry you're also experiencing audio issues in Storyline! Since this discussion is from two years ago, let me ask you a few questions to help troubleshoot:
Are you also using Storyline 3? If so, which version do you currently have?
Is the audio problem the same as described above (audio cuts off every few seconds), or is it slightly different?
Does it happen only when the file is published or in preview as well?
Are you working from a local hard drive? We don't recommend working with files on a network drive.

What's the resolution here? I keep reading of the same issue (for years), but no solution offered. Have we figured out why this is happening?
