Maybe I'm just too used to Captivate, but I can't seem to 'play' the timeline on Storyline. I have some audio and want to bring characters in at different points of the audio and I can't seem to just play it. What's the trick? Can't seem to figure it out on my own.

1.) What do you mean by you can't play the timeline in Storyline? 1.1) So you are trying to preview all the animations and transitions on a slide? 1.2) When you click on the play button are you getting an error message?
3.) Is this also happening when you click on preview? 4.) Can you give a step by step narration on how you are playing the timeline? 4.1) If you can send screenshots too, that would be great.
Is it only the timeline audio that won't play? Were you able to preview the whole slide using the Player preview button?
If you'd like to share a copy of your file here we can also take a look. In the meantime, what version of Storyline are you using - you may want to review the tutorials and user guides on working with Storyline, specifically on using the timeline.
