Can this be done with drag and drop? May 16, 2012 By Mike Hua I have three boxes on the left hand side and I want to be draggable to the right side where when they are dropped into an area, it exposes information about that box. Can that be done with Storyline?
Bruce Graham Hero almost 12 years ago05/16/12 at 5:53 am (UTC) Mike, Just to confirm.... 3 x boxes. Drag each one of the boxes to a pre-set area on the right of the page. When the box is released - information is displayed, so 3 sets of "box information" in total? Correct? Bruce
Annie Jean almost 12 years ago05/16/12 at 6:02 am (UTC) Hi Mike, This can be done several ways but the easiest is to do it with trigger. It all depends on the way you want your information to show. Do you want them on layers? Do you want to add this information in a particular state of the dragged object? You can either, show a layer, change state of an object, etc. when a selected object is dropped on another specific object. It is all in the triggers. Don't hesitate if you need further information. Have a nice day!

Annie Jean almost 12 years ago05/16/12 at 6:22 am (UTC) Nice example Bruce! You to add to Bruce's example, you can either do it with a freeform, pick many of drag and drop. But you can also do it with the triggers and shape without having to convert the slide to a freeform, it is up to you.

Annie Jean almost 12 years ago05/16/12 at 6:35 am (UTC) "Clever clogs"... I had to look in the dictionnary to understand it (just making sure it wasn't an insult ) Don't forget that English is not my first language and YOUR English is certainly not hi,hi,hi! Thanks Bruce, have a nice day!
Bruce Graham Hero almost 12 years ago05/16/12 at 6:45 am (UTC) Apologies! It's a phrase used when "playing" with someone, teasing them about how good they are. MY new example celebrates your "box-dragging-prowess" with fireworks http://dl.dropbox.com/u/4349561/BoxDrag1%20output/story.html Bruce
