Does anyone know how to stop a marker's swirl/pulse once the marker is in a visited state? When editing the visited state, that option is grayed out, and I can't seem to turn it off. The customer finds the continued swirling annoying.
Hi Kris, Phil's suggestion should work but there is another approach you can try. Create your marker and set it to pulse. Then copy and paste the marker you just created to your screen and turn the pulse off. Copy the new marker (the one that has the pulse turned off) - then edit the states for the original marker (the one that has the pulse) - create the visited state. Delete the marker that is in the visited state then paste the maker with the pulse in its place (adjust the maker position so that it is 0, 0).

When I apply this solution, Storyline crashes when I try to go into preview mode
I am sorry that Storyline crashes when you try to set up this marker workflow. Does it crash every time you create this setup and then preview the slide?
Could I have you try a simple repair of Storyline to see if that resolves the issue? Also, I would ensure that these best practices are in place to help avoid unexpected behavior when creating Storyline projects.

Not by state you can turn off for the object in marker tools
If you want switched off you can fake by having two markers one that hides once you click out of of it, the other marker has no swirl
Hi Kris,
It sounds like Phil has got you covered with some good solutions and i just wanted to link to the tutorial here on working with markers.

Great suggestions! Thanks everyone. I will definitely try this!
Will the ability to ever do this through editing the visited state be implemented? It would be a much simpler solution versus the work arounds.
Hey Wendy,
Thanks for popping in to share your specific idea on how to tackle this need. I've added this to our feature request.
We are tracking this request and I wanted to share some information about how we manage these feature requests as that may be helpful.
