I have a base layer with 9 different pictures set up, each with their own trigger that will take you to their appropriate layer.
However, when I preview the slide and select the first picture and view the layer, I am unable to get back to the base layer to click the other pictures and view their layers.
I try pressing "Next" and "Prev" and it won't respond. I have tried adding a trigger to the layer and it seems that I can't add a trigger to the layer. I have tried everything. Anyone have a solution to my problem?
Hi Ryan, you may have set the layer so that the base layer cannot be clicked (the cog on the layer pane). Or you have added a transparent shape over the pictures.
You can add triggers to layers. In fact there is a "Hide Layer" trigger that should work for you here. You could have it hide when the timeline ends (if you want it to close on its own), or you can insert a "Close" button or "X" shape on the layer and attach the "Hide Layer" trigger to that.

Jill, that helped!!! Phil, thanks for your help as well!!!
Sorry I forgot to also mentioned another issue related to this forum. And is that, once I am in the slide that has my layers, I click on the menu to go back to the main slide to see my base layer, but it doesn't work. By the way, I already checked my slide properties, and I didn't check the "prevent the user from clicking on the base layer" option.
If I am understanding your question correctly, I think that your menu button needs to be on each layer instead of the base layer. Use the Menu button to close the layer. I've made a quick example of what I mean. Hope it helps!
Thanks a lot Jill for your answer I saw your previous comment and so I had tried that option already. I created a "close" button (X) in each layer. So that worked well, now I can close the layers and go back to the base layer. But what I realized is that when I am in any of the secondary layers, i can't go back to the base layer by clicking on the slide on the navigation bar (Menu). I dont think is a big deal though.
Hi, my issue seems the opposite of what I'm seeing. I need for the failure layer to close when timeline ends and return to the previous layer, not the base (so the user can try again). I am using the same failure/try again layer for each wrong answer on separate slides, so I don't want to have to customize each one. Thanks!
Hi there, Maurice. I'd love to explore this with you!

I have been having the same Issue. Thanks a lot for sharing the answer. Is this "adding close button" the only way around this?
Thanks again.

Oh, I see what you are saying - you meant the menu in the player. Yes - triggers only apply to the slide and not the player.
Thanks for your response
