Changing State of an Object

Hello everyone,
I am new to Articulate storyline, within the last 6 months. I am learning every day. I need some advice and pointers. I am building a learning experience using Storyline 1.
I have attached three slides to show what I would like to happen but can't figure. So I set up a simple drag 'n drop trigger for each of the icon label objects on Slide 1. When I drop the icon label in the match target label on the right, I have set it "jump to slide" (Slide 2). I would like for the state of the object to be grayed out when participants click "Back" to the topic menu (Slide 3) to show that they have already looked at each content piece.
Not sure if that is even possible, but would love and appreciate some guidance.
Thanks.
Don

Add the change state trigger before the jump trigger.
Change state of xxx to xxx when object dropped on.
Jump to slide xxx when object dropped on.
set slide to resume saved state on revisit.
Thank you Walt. It didn't quite work the way that I am imagining it. I am going to keep playing. Thanks for your input here.
I think the issue might be that the icon labels are static--created and copied from another program.
To me, picture 3 looks like picture 1. Did you create a new state for the objects?
