Closed captions and videos
Apr 09, 2024
Hi all.
I did look around in the community to see if this question had been posed. It had, but some time ago. So, let me ask.
If you have a Storyline course with closed captions and you save it as a video, do the closed captions appear in the Storyline video? Meaning, do they carry over.
Or, is a course turned video just a video that requires a closed captioning tool external to Storyline?
Thanks so much.

Hi Michele,
The captions automatically get included in the published output as a standalone file, so you'll still need to enable the captions when you open the video in a media player. It's a two-step process to see the captions along with your video. The first step is to open your video using a player that supports captions, and the second step is to locate the subtitles feature and "add" the captions file in order to see the text on screen.
OK...thanks...the captions are not embedded...a viewer would have to launch them themselves ... got it.
