Creating compliance course

Dec 03, 2012

So I am creating a compliance course for my company and I am creating it now in Storyline compared to last year where I used PPT and Engage. In Storyline, how can I get the user to go through each interaction and not allow them to skip through an interaction? And hide the Next/Previous buttons?

You can do this by creating player triggers (on the Next button). I also like to put a warning pop up layer explaining that all the buttons must be pressed to continue. The image below shows part of a 6-button interaction with the warning on the top half and the jump to slide on the bottom:

Note the OR for the warning layer because you want that to pop up if the user misses any of the buttons. You need AND for the next slide because you want ALL of the buttons visited before being allowed to move on.

Hope this helps.

Hi Annette and welcome to Heroes,

You'd need to include something for the user to click on or interact with it some way - so even if you're not using the built in next button you could use a button on the slide itself.

You may also want to look at restricting the navigation through the player menu (directions for Storyline 2).
