Cue points not stopping during video

Apr 19, 2024

I have read through past comments and couldn't quite find the answer I am looking for.

I have multiple cue points where there is a hotspot that occurs about .25 seconds before and after each. I stop at certain points of the timeline with the cues, then the user clicks the hotspot and the timeline resumes.

Generally this works fine, but sometimes the cue point just doesn't work. I have a transparent shape around the entire screen that has basically a useless trigger (submit true/false interaction when the user clicks the square) so when clicking the transparent square, nothing happens.

It seems like the problem of the cue point not stopping happens more when I click around on the video at earlier spots before the cue points, but not sure if that is coincidence or not.

Anyone else having these issues, if so, how are they fixed? Thanks!

Without looking at the slide it's hard to see what is actually happening. But what the heck let's try some stuff.

First your transparent mask must be above most stuff in your timeline. This blocks the clicks for most part. Then put your hotspot above it on the timeline so it can only be clicked on for a short time. Your video must have a trigger to stop at a point on the timeline, then a trigger to restart when the hotspot is clicked on.

See if this works for you.
