Custom Color palette doesn't fit on my screen

Jan 11, 2023

Hi. I'm hoping someone has a fix for this.

I'm trying to build a custom palette but I can't get to the Apply button at the bottom. I've tried dragging it to another monitor but it still spans top to bottom. I can grab the top and move it down, but I can't bring it up to save or apply. When I tab to try to get to the bottom, it starts in the Name, highlights Text/Background Light 1, then it's dropdown, then disappears for three tabs and eventually returns to the name field.

I don't see a way to make this smaller. I've tried CTRL+scroll, CTRL+SHIFT+ - and they don't work. Suggestions?

Hi Jean,

Sorry to hear that you ran into this snag!

The color palette window should not be doing that. Here are a few troubleshooting steps that you can try to help address the behavior:

  • Adjust the Scale option in Display Settings to 100%.

  • Do a repair of your Storyline 360 installation using the steps in this article

If the issue persists, reach out to our support team here for further assistance.

Let us know how it goes!

While waiting for your helpdesk team to complete the reinstall, can you try double-clicking on the gray area here to see if this will maximize the Theme colors window.

If you are able to maximize the window, you should be able to interact with the Ok and Cancel buttons at the bottom.

Thanks Joe. Unfortunately that doesn't work. I did discover that I can use the arrow keys to move the highlight down the column so can get to the bottom, but it doesn't let me move over to the right in wguessing is the last row. I can't see it so I'm guessing here. I also figured out that the two unseen tabs in the sequence are the apply and cancel buttons so I've been able to work around this issue until my ticket is managed in the IT queue.

Today, my larger monitor doesn't let me see the top or bottom bar in the dialog box.

My smaller monitor let me see the top gray bar but when I maximize the box, I still can't see the buttons.

Hi Daniel,

Thanks for reaching out and I'm sorry to hear that you're experiencing this issue on your laptop. Have you checked to confirm the scale option in Display Settings to 100%, as Joe suggested above?

Hi,

I am facing the same issue. The "Create New Theme Colors" window does not fit into my screen. When I try to resize the window size, the Window moves towards the bottom for the screen. When I click on the banner to move it, when the mouse button is released, the window stretches to full screen, and not allowing me to save the changes.

Your help to fix this issue is much appreciated.

Hi Flatirons Solutions,

Sorry to hear that you ran into a similar issue.

Can I ask if you are using a monitor with a screen resolution of 1,280 x 800 or higher as mentioned in Storyline 360's System Requirements?

If you've already tried the troubleshooting I shared in my previous response,  I'd recommend opening a case with our support team here.  They'll be able to help share additional troubleshooting steps that you can try to fix the issue!

Hi,

I was using 1920X1080 display resolution. When I reduced the resolution, I could see the full window. Thank you
