Hi all! I put together this keyword search using Storyline and Javascript. I am still cleaning up the code a bit but it is functional so I wanted to share a video I made on it.
The idea is that we might have some just-in-time course material or micro-lessons that learners might search for when they need it. Or this can be used as a reference lookup after a course is complete.
Wanted to get your thoughts or ideas so as I continue to work on this I can consider incorporating other functionality or design considerations.
Wow... This is awesome!! I can see how this would be helpful in several courses I have. Learners could leverage the search function to quickly locate information when they need it. Can't wait to see the file when it's ready. Thanks!
I'm not sure if folks are still subscribed here, as the post is a bit older - but you could always use the "contact me" button on a ELH users' profile to reach out to them directly! If they are able to, they can upload it using the “ADD ATTACHMENT” button at the bottom of the reply window.
Oh! Sorry. Some of these notifications get buried and I missed this from you. I will get this online. I had been tinkering with it to clean it up a bit but might as well get it out there. I will post here when it is available.
I've seen this same technique used before to search closed captions in Storyline. Clicking on the search results took the user to the exact place in the video where the keyword was spoken.

Since this is an older discussion, David might not be subscribed, but you're welcome to contact them directly through their profile by clicking on their name and selecting Contact Me.

Really cool example here David - thank you for sharing! I bet some folks will be curious to dive into the .story file if you're able to share here.
Thanks Ashley. There are a few hoops to jump through with the way Storyline is setup but it functional pretty well.
Pretty cool, dude.
Thanks, Tom! Should have a Storyline file people can mess with soon.
