You should be able to delete them from wherever you have them stored on your machine, rather than right within the "New Slide" menu.
For instance, my Storyline templates are at: C:\Users\Administrator\Documents\My Articulate Projects\Storyline Templates. Once I delete a template from that location, it'll no longer appear in my Storyline template dropdown.
