I keep having this problem with states for drag and drop. I set the "normal" state to have an image - e.g. a paper background then within the normal state I add a text box (I've tried grouping objects but that does not work either). Then on other states, for example "drag over" I want the text on the normal to hide so that I can just show a screwed up paper ball but the text box is still there even though its deleted from the drag over state?
If you'd like to set up your own custom states, you can follow along with thedirections in this tutorial. Additionally there is information here detailing all the built in states and when they'll be used.
I've used custom states in the past to get round this - I had hoped I could use the built in states as this would make development quicker but will keep to making my own

the built in states are additive to normal state e.g. they build onto normal
You may be better using a custom state and trigger for this they are not additive
