Drag and Drop variable query

I'm working on a course where I want the user to choose from a number of evidence items to analyse further. I've set up a drag and drop interaction that, using a numerical variable (count + 1) advances to the next slide when 5 (of 8) items have been dragged and dropped. Incidentally I have also assigned a score to each item using a numeric variable (on the basis that some of the items are more effective as evidence than others) which will be used to help determine the end outcome of the course.

My issue is that I want to show the user on the next slide only the 5 items that they have chosen - I thought I could potentially do this using states and a true/false variable i.e. change state from initially hidden to normal, if variable changes to true but I can't seem to get it to work the way I am expecting it to.

Am I over-complicating this? Is there an easy way of doing this?

Any help much appreciated.

Should work, I find when troubleshooting variables to add references to the variables on the slides at least this way you know the variable has changed to what you expect.

I would also check that on your second slide you are using a slide level on timeline start trigger and not when variable changes.

this is because the when variable changes trigger has to have the change happen on that slide.

Thanks Phil! After a bit of trial and error and 'borrowing' your variables I've got there! I don't have the most logical mind so I struggle with this sort of thing!

Now I need to figure out how to reset the numerical variables if the learner goes back and chooses different items (thought it was pertinent to give this option...) - I have set the slide to reset but think I need to somehow reset the variables too...?!
