Editing States Question
Oct 12, 2016
Hello community,
I have a question that I don't quite know how to ask. I am editing the state of an object. There is a little plus sign that appears to show the top left corner of the parent object. The object I am editing is a rounded rectangle shortened to be a 32x32 px circle. Then the state of the object expands up to a 32x332 px rectangle, but horizontal.
I use the format feature to expand the rectangle by a specific amount of pixels. When I change the pixel amount, it stretched down where I need it to stretch up. I have to move the object to get it into the correct location. While not hard, it is just annoying if I don't get it just right.
Is there a way to move the plus sign place holder to the bottom right or left so it will expand vertically up?
Thanks

Hi Scott,
Have you tried using gridlines and guides?
Hi Scott! Looks like Sheena has popped in to assist you here. I'm not aware of a way to do what you are asking. Curious - do other programs let you change things like that? I'm obviously not a designer :) You are welcome to share your thoughts with our product development team here.
Good morning,
Thanks Sheena, I have done that. So here's what I am doing. I made a lightbox that will show the learner's their progress through different sections of the e-learning course. The bars move up like a thermometer, getting higher and higher as they progress in each section. I've already moved created the states and moved them by here. It was just a thought for future references.
Leslie, I am not sure. But I only use Storyline for development of interactive courses. So I am not familiar with others programs. This was more for my information and others if they were curious. I have already done it by hand and got them all lined up. Just thought it would help others in the future.
Makes sense Scott - I'd be sure to share your feature request via the link I shared above and hopefully some of your fellow community members will be able to chime in and share.
