Hi- I'm currently working on a project in which I've inserted a 26 MB MP4, which for some reason caused my project file to jump in size by nearly 80 MB. Is this expected behavior? If so, what causes it?
If you're seeing it in the .story file, you may want to take a look at doing a "save as" to a new file and if you've removed any videos or elements being sure to save and close, and reopen to check the file size, as the assets are only removed when reopening the project to allow you to use the "undo" button while still in the project.
I'm actually seeing this jump in size between two older versions of a .story file that were saved about a month ago. The only significant difference between the two versions is the addition of the video file.
I have seen reports of inflated project files when video files where trimmed and this issue has been reported to our QA Team for review. Does this apply to you as well?
Yes Steve, as I'm not aware of another workaround. You may have an issue with removing the video and re-inserting (still with the file size), so not sure if you should just start in a new project file and import the slides or start back with your previous version prior to adding video.
Unfortunately a lot of work has taken place on the module since we added the video, so if we do anything, it will be removing and re-inserting the video. If that ends up happening, I'll post back here with the results.

It very well might. I believe I trimmed some time off the back end of the video.
Perfect. I will add this thread for our QA Team awareness and so that I can update here when applicable.
Thanks. In the meantime, do you recommend that we remove the video and re-insert without trimming in Storyline?

Sounds great Steve.
