I'm working on a series of modules and I'm wondering if there's a way to create one external glossary that each of these modules can pull from. I know I can create a Storyline template with a glossary already in it and then create each subsequent module from that template so the glossary would be shared. But that's not what I'm looking for here. I'm looking for a centralized glossary that multiple modules can pull terms from and that can be updated as necessary with limited impact. Is this possible with Storyline?
If you have Articulate Engage, you might build the glossary in the glossary interaction. In this way, it would be an external glossary. Not totally sure how learners would access it, but I'm sure you could come up with something. --Daniel
If I understand what you're trying to do this should be fairly straightforward.
Create your glossary (Engage works well here if you have it).
Publish your glossary to a web location that is accessible to your audience
Copy the URL of your glossary.
Insert it into your courses as either a web object on a slide or as a resource in the player. Either way allows you to not only share the glossary among multiple project but also to make updates/additions to the single glossary and have those changes flow through to all of your already published Storyline files.
