In a course we have a slide with several external links (client's intranet). Those links are also in the resourses tab and work fine but in the slide they don't. The LMS includes information to the link
I'm surprised you are getting these to work, Ana. I can not get an external link to work with a hotspot nor with a transparent shape, as Parashuram has suggested.
Here is a test slide with one transparent shape and one link through a hotspot. Upon publishing, I get the correct cursor, but the link doesn't go anywhere. Thanks!
Support people said it worked for them. They are implying that it doesn't work for in a published version run locally from my hard drive. Does anyone have any idea why that would be? Might it be a Flash setting?
Correct - hyperlinks may not work properly if you try to use the link in published output, when viewing locally.
Since I cannot see the response you received from support, here's a little more information, just in case:
If you view published Storyline content on your local hard drive or send it to someone else to view on their local hard drive, you'll encounter security restrictions from the computer, web browser, Flash Player, and network that'll cause various features of your content to fail.
To properly test your published content and share it with others, upload it to the environment for which it was published. Please review the following article for details:

Hi Ana,
In the screenshot above it seems that you are adding link to the words, like we do in MSWord or PowerPoint.
But it is wrong practice, instead those add a transparent patch(rectangle) over those word and add trigger to those patches.
you can color those words in blue so that user will know those words are hyper-linked.
Hope this will solve your problem.
Thanks Parashuram.
I already found out what it was: I had an extra at the beginning and end of the link.
Ana

I Just did an hiperlink on text and it works fine. The problem was the actual link it had some extra tags (probably from copy/past).
Hi Instructional designer,
Nice name by the way,
Will you please share your file so I'll check what is going wrong in your story.

Are you testing locally or online?
My computer/browser due to security issues blocks links. I can only test it when I upload to the LMS...
Have you try it?
Ana
