How to Edit Player Tooltips to Match Custom Player Text Labels?

Dec 29, 2023

When setting up a new project, we edit the Previous button text label from "PREV" to "BACK." In a current project, the new Player Tooltip retains the word "Previous" as part of the keyboard shortcut tip.

Unless the text label BACK is changed to the default PREV (which prev is not a real word), there is a disparity between the button label and the tooltip with no apparent way to fix, disable, or edit.

From a Dec 01 post, Steven Benassi mentioned, "The Player tooltips were added to satisfy WCAG criteria, so it’s important for accessibility, and, therefore, cannot be disabled."

Other accessible controls, like closed captions, can toggle on or off by default. Why not Player Tooltips? If disabling is not an option, how can I edit the tooltip?

We are a 100% accessible first company, but there should be options.
