How to prevent drag objects from being moved after interaction is submitted

Aug 08, 2018

Hi there,

How can one - after submitting a drag and  drop interaction - prevent dragged objects from being moved further, but still allow them to be clicked?

I have a drag and drop interaction, and I want two things to happen after the submit button is hit:

a) the learner should not be allowed to further move the drop objects from the position on which they were dropped when the submit button was pressed, and

b) the learner should be allowed to click on the drop objects to activate a trigger that will show another layer.

Thank you,

Mihai

Hi Mihai,

In answer to part a) of your question, after the submit button is clicked, you can set the correct or incorrect layer using the gear icon on the bottom-right to "prevent the user from clicking on the base layer".

However, if you do that you will not be able to perform part b) which requires interaction with the base layer.  Why did you want the learner to click on the drop objects?  Were you wanting to show them the correct answers?  If that is the case, you could make an "answers" layer showing the correct answers and provide a button on the incorrect layer linked to the "answers" layer.

I would like the learners to click on the drop objects to get more information specific to each drop object.  I attach the slide so that you can see more exactly the problem.  After hitting submit, the droped objects should not move anymore, but one should be able to click on each of them and jump to the respective layer.

Thanks!

I'm not sure how this is supposed to work. When you drag the Request #s to the targets on the right should it go, #1, 2 & 3 = high importance, 4 & 5 = moderate importance and #6 = low importance. After that when the learner clicks on each request number they are supposed to see an empty request response frame?
