When I publish and view the story in the Articulate Mobile Player the background that I have assigned to the slide shows up, but when I publish and view the story in Safari with HTML5, the background does not show up and is replaced by a light gray. My background is dark, so the white text is hard to read on the light background. I either need the background to show up or be able to change the light gray to a darker color. Any ideas?
Can you create a new .story with the same background (no content) and then publish. See if you get the same issue. You can share the .story if you like and I'll look at it.
Fixed it. The image has to be at the root level with the .story file. I always organize my projects with folders and put all the images in an "Images" folder.
Didn't change anything post-publish. I had put the image in the Test story folder so I thought that might be the reason why it wasn't showing up, so I went back to my original project and moved the background image to the folder with the story file and it work. I assumed that was the reason why it was now working. But... I went and put the background image back into the Images folder and it works now. Very bizarre. Must have just been a glitch. Everything is working fine now.
I'm having a similar issue. Each of my slides has a background image that I inserted into the Master Slides via the option Format Background > Picture or Texture Fill > Insert From File. After I publish, the background image appears fine in SWF output and even in the iPad player, but when I view the HTML5 output in both FireFox and Chrome, none of the background images appear. I'm currently using a 30 day trial that I just installed.
That's exactly what I did. Try removing the background file and saving the story file. Then, add the file back in and republish. I didn't do anything else and it worked.
I am having trouble with this as well. I can't get the background to show up in the html 5 published project. I have tried what was suggested here, but I can't get it to work. I asked for help with it here at work, and it just seems like adding a background image doesn't work for me in Firefox. Any other suggestions? Thanks!

Are you looking in the Mobile Safari? What does it look like in other browsers like Chrome or regular Safari?
If I pull up the HTML5 file in Chrome it looks the same. It's missing the background image.

Are you changing something post-publish? Why do you need to move the image?

Hi DeLayne, I actually ended up trying that and it works now. I guess it's just a bug. Thanks for the reply!
