Hi, I was wondering how to do an image scroll. I have an image that is quite large and i want to be able to use my mouse to drag the image right and left to show more of the image. Is it possible to have a vertical and horizontal scroll at once? Can this be done without using a scroll bar and just dragging the image around?
Here is an option to horizontally scroll an image. You could also add your large image to a simple html page and then display this page via a Storyline webobject. Providing that the image is larger than the webobject's dimensions, scrollbars will be displayed automatically.
Another way of doing this, a bit tricky(some call it a hack) but the result is statisfying enough, is to insert a scrolling panel object. In the scrolling panel resized to your taste, you will insert your image sideway. You will then create an offscreen object and group it with your scrolling panel. You will then be able to rotate your group and put the scrolling handle at the buttom of your slide. Voilà!
Richard I watched the video on how to do the horizontal scroll bar which worked great! But i also need it to scroll vertical at the same time as the image will be long and wide!
Thanks Michael, that's great! Is there a way to scroll vertical at the same time? If i add it to the simple html page and go that way can i scroll horizontal and vertical? If yes how do i do this!?
Here is a quick example of a large image being displayed inside a web object. It shows both horizontal and vertical scroll bars. All you have to do is create an html page and add the image. Then, insert a webobject into Storyline and link it to the html page. Info on using webobjects is here.
