Issue with < > Buttons appearing in Quiz for a User - Modern Player

Jul 26, 2018

We're seeing a strange phenomenon for a specific user, and wondering what could be causing it.

When he goes through the course, he's seeing the < > Buttons in the player in the quiz.  When he clicks a correct response, the Feedback dialog for Correct is not popping up to allow him to advance...

We are unable to replicate the issue.  In Storyline, we've set the properties to NOT show the Next/Previous buttons for that page...

He is using Chrome browser and has Flash Player disabled...

We're mystified... and are thinking this is being caused by some browser setting he has... looking for insight....

Hi there, Mary Beth.  Thanks for those images.  From what you're describing, it sounds as though he's in Quiz Review mode, somehow.  Once he lands on the results slide, it will show all of the question slides in Review mode, unless he choose to "Retry Quiz" (if that option is enabled).  Quiz Review mode will show Next and Previous options, as well as not showing feedback layers.

  • Is there anyway that he would reach the results slide before he sees the quiz slides?
  • Is that a screen recording set in Test mode?
  • If it isn't too much trouble, can he exit and restart the course from the beginning?
