I have a couple drag and drop quiz questions where they drag pictures into boxes and it is set to unlimited chances. If they get it wrong they will be taken to the "try again" layer. When they hit the try again button it will hide the layer but the items to drag disappear and they will get stuck on this slide with no way to try again. Is there a setting I am missing?
It sounds like it's not resetting when you revisit the interaction. Have you tried setting the slide to reset to its initial state when revisiting?
If you'd like to share your project's .STORY file here, I'd be happy to take a look at what you have so far. Also, you can try recreating or importing the slides into a new Storyline project if the file is too large, or if you need to keep information in the course private.
Thanks for your help. I attached the test file. I tried every combination of settings I could think of. I even removed the freeform and reapply to no avail.
Thanks very much for the file. I apologize, I assumed you were working with a pre-built results slide that contained a "Retry" option. Since you're using a custom layer for this, you'll need to take an additional step for this to reset.
On the "Try Again" button, I noticed there was a trigger set to hide the layer. That's great, if you want the learner to see what they already chose for their answer. However, if you want them to choose again, you'll need to actually revisit the slide so it becomes reset. So, you'd want to remove the trigger to close that layer and add a trigger to Jump to slide "1.1 PPE Activity 1" when the user clicks on that button.
I've modified the first slide in this way, so you can take a look at how it functions now.

Hello Christine,
