Linking multiple dials on the same slide
Jul 12, 2020
I am hoping for some advice on how we could bring to life the content in the attached document. Depending on our method of communication and the message our brand guidelines ask us to dial up or down each of three different behaviours. Instead of just presenting text it would be great if we could have dials that learners move based on a scenario we give them, to determine if they understand the concept. The exact numbers on the dials are not important its more their relativity to each other. As a relative newbie to creating content in storyline, any suggestions or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Hi, Clair,
It's doable but complicated to provide feedback based on the input from 3 sliders.
First, you'd need to decide how many steps in each slider. The more steps, the more complicated the programming.
Each piece of feedback could be on its own layer or in its own lightbox slide. You have to decide how specific that feedback will be.
In any case, it'll help to establish all that in advance. It'll also help to set up a good method for naming things. That'll help keep you organized as you program the interaction.
BTW, if you're not already familiar with variables and conditions, the Articulate tutorials and user guides have info. They provide a lot of control, so it's worth the time to learn how to use them.
Good luck!
When sliders were first introduced in Storyline 2, I did an example similar to what you are trying. It was quite straightforward; based on the changing slider on the right, the slider variables of the other sliders (on the left) were re-calculated. All these sliders were set up with identical steps, but the ones on the left also had an offset value.
