There isn't a way to lock the seekbar, but you may want to look into using a more customized progress bar so that the user could see where they are in the slide but not use it to advance forward.
Put a transparent rectangle over the seekbar. They'll still be able to see their progress and use the play/pause controls, but won't be able to interact with the seekbar.

Remove the seek bar, if you still need it add a trigger, of slide cannot move ahead unless user meet that condition.

I don't think you can put anything in the play bar area?
You absolutely can. It's even more fun when you do it by accident and can't figure out why the controls aren't showing up anywhere.
