Manual deactivation?

I'm aware that there is a way to manually activate a license of Storyline by requesting a 'manual activation code' for instance if the pc that Storyline is on is behind a firewall.
Is there a way to manually deactivate a machine in the same situation? For instance, if you want to transfer a license to another machine, but when you try it says the number of installations is exceeded.
Is this possible?

Hi David,
You can follow these directions to deactivate Storyline, and then to install it on another computer. Just remember to keep your serial number handy, as you'll need it to install it and activate on your other computer.
I am having a newhard drivebeing put into my laptop, so I am assuming I need to deactivate myArticulate Products and reactivate when I get the laptop back. Is that correct?
Do I have to doanything with the Character Packages we have purchased?
Is there any otheradvice anyone has about file saving?
Thanks in advancefor the help. I want to be prepared to make this a smooth upgrade.
Hi Cheryl,
Yes, you'll want to deactivate it and then reactivate it on your new hard drive. Also, I'd suggest backing up your .story files and any of your published files by placing them somewhere such as Dropbox as you likely save and publish to your local drive. You'll also likely need to reinstall your Character packs since they're also installed on your local drive.
Thank you for the advice!
Happy to help Cheryl!
Hi Cheryl, thanks for the above suggestion. However, in the case where the client's pc is behind a firewall that prevents them from automatic activation, won't that firewall also prevent the communication to Articulate that 'deregisters' the license serial number?
Hi David,
If you're having problems deactivating the Storyline license due to a company firewall, is your IT department able to help you bypass it for the purpose of deactivation? You're also welcome to connect with our Support team for further help.
I'm going to be transferring from a Macbook Pro to an iMac desktop today. I unfortunately forgot to deactivate the license that was running on the Macbook Parallels Windows 7 OS before I deleted Windows 7. Does that mean I've lost 1/2 of my activations for my license?
Hi Alexander,
Connect with our Support team. They'll check your activations and help you out.
Deactivate ST2 - Windows - Go to: C:\Program Files (x86)\Articulate\Articulate Storyline 2
Run: Deactivator.exe
It will just flash and look like it didn't do anything. Launch ST2 and it should show you have a trial.
