I'm inserting ready-made markers into my slides and I have noticed that there are certain styles that I've applied to my master text boxes that are being applied to the title portion of the marker pop-up. I want an indepedent style for my markers, but I can't seem to change the text shadow and background that I've applied to the Slide master text box. Any suggestions on how to get the markers to have their own style?
Are you using a particular design theme or custom color set up? It looks like Storyline is picking that up as the "title section" color, and is adjusting the marker title accordingly. I tried changing my slide master title color, and a few different design themes and it didn't update my marker color - but if you'd like to share your .story file here we're happy to take a look.
I just wrote a long reply with attachments and pictures and this site did not post it. Having just as many problems with the forums as with Storyline unfortunately!
Thanks for sharing the file here - and I figured out why mine wasn't updating, it only changed once clicking outside the marker. Since it's a title placeholder, and the markers have a title section - I'd say it's working as designed. For a workaround, what I would do is instead of using the title placeholder, I'd use a text placeholder in that section and format that according and your marker title won't have any styles to pick up from the master slide.

I know it was a mistake but I would love to look at the file to see how you achieved that
Here it is Phil.
1. Go to your slide Master to edit a layout
2. Select the placeholder title text box and change the shape fill to a solid color or gradient
3. Close Slide Master and Apply the layout to your slide
4. Any marker you add will take on those characteristics once you add text

Thank you, that is a great little trick, never realised that would work
Without even trying Jesse, you helped Phil out!
