Thanks for the image and I'm sorry to hear about the behavior - can you confirm you're using a DPI setting of 96 as detailed here? You'll also want to make sure you're working on local project files, as working off a network or USB drive could cause unusual behavior. Lastly, if the behavior continues I'd like to have you go through the repair steps here.
Please let me know if there is anything else I can assist with or how it goes after you check into those things.
Hi Wendy thanks for tip; funny but my boss does not (who has the issue), but I do sometimes use two and I'm fine. Has there been any research on this bug? She was updating a course and rather than trying to edit an object's state, she just had it appear at the desired time by adjusting the timeline. A workaround for now but...
Hi Ashley thanks for ringing in. I didn't get to ask her today if it persists, I see it just sort of went away for the user who started this thread. Hope it doesn't happen to me! I'll tell her to repair/reinstall if it doesn't come back.
Having the same issue working with a template from the library, it says to alter the text to click on the item and the "States" tab. I don't have that tab. When I try to dock the windows- nothing happens.
No worries, Lisa! It was nice to answer an easy one. 😉

And, magically and inexplicably, it returns, without any explanation or having to take any of the steps above.
Thanks Ashley
Those are always the best ones! Glad to hear it Steve.
This is so odd... just happened to my boss yesterday/today... (we still use SL2). Mine's fine though, we're stumped.
Hi Chris
this is a longshot - not sure if you are using dual monitors - try View > redock all windows
Let us know if Wendy's suggestion doesn't help, Chris! My next idea would be to repair (reinstall) Storyline 2.

Hi Lisa,
You do have the States tab, I circled it in orange below:
Once you click there you'll be able to add a state to the object you've selected on the slide.
Oh my gosh duh me!
