I'm struggling with the questionform Multiple Choice. Want I need is to define a Branching to other sildes after each question, butwithout a Feedback. To define the Branching I need to select "Feedback by Choice" , but then I also get all layers for the Feedback, which I dont Need. How can i get around these layers?
By using triggers for the Branching I get in trouble with the Submit Button and the result slide….
Thanks for reaching out and sharing what you would like to accomplish.
Your description sounds like something you could accomplish within Storyline.
You can delete the feedback and the layers, but leave the branching if needed.
I do not see any branching defined, so I'm not sure how to help you yet, but I'd be happy to take another look.
Where should the branching be?
I noticed Scene 2 slides link back to the Result Slide on Slide 1.2, but these slides are not tracked with this Result Slide. What is the overall goal and navigation of this course.?
Each possible answer in den MC should lead (branch) to another MC question. Want comes next depends on the users chosen answer. So if the users clicks on optionfield 1 -> next question would be slide 2.2 (in Scene 2), or if the user clicks the optionfield 2 as an answer the next question silde is 2.3. I defined the branching in the question form - see my attachement. If I delete the feedback layer I also loos the branching …
The reason for Scene 2 is, that i get a better overview - there are about 40 Questions coming in to this story.
The result slide is needed to show the points of the answered question.
Enclosed once more the file with the correct branching.
Hello Lara. Thanks for the clarification. You are really close with your file! Here's what I did to make the branching work:
Keep "feedback by choice." When the trigger to submit the interaction works, Storyline will either jump to the next slide in sequence or whatever is chosen in the feedback and branching window. Your triggers on the base layer of your question slide won't override the logic.
Since you don't really want feedback, shorten the timeline of each feedback layer to .25 seconds, and hide any feedback layout objects that you don't want to see.
Change the triggers on the feedback layer to Hide this layer when timeline ends on the layer, and Jump to slide x.x when timeline ends on the layer.
The result should be that the answer choice is submitted, and for a split second, an invisible layer appears which will then tell Storyline the right slide to visit next. I've attached your modified file where I've made the changes on slides 1.1 and 2.1 for an example.
The results slide currently only tracks question 1.1. So, only question 1.1 has to be answered correctly for this quiz. If that's not correct, please keep in mind that the branching might skip some of the questions. If the results slide tracks all of the questions, adjust your passing score to account for skipped questions.
