Thanks for contacting us and sharing what you would like to create.
With your permission, I'd like to take a look at your project file to understand your design and investigate what's happening. You can share it publicly here, or send it to me privately by uploading it here. I'll delete it when I'm done troubleshooting.
Thank you for reaching out. Actually this is a feature I would like to employ across a lot of my projects. I have therefore built and attached a very simple project to explain.
This project has two versions of the same audio clip (a drum kit). One of the versions has EQ applied. I have set up simple buttons that allow the user to switch between the EQ'ed sound and the original sound. However I can not get the two version to stay synchronised.
I can think of two ways that I could get this to work but i don't think either is currently an option in Storyline.
1 If I could use a trigger to change the volume of an audio clip then I could have both clips on the base layer. I could get them both to start (with one muted) when the timeline starts and then use a trigger to mute /unmute the appropriate clip.
2 Another option (and I can see this being useful in many ways) would be to have a feature where the timeline of layers could be locked to the timeline of the base layer. If I then put each audio clip on a separate layer, I could use show / hide layer triggers but the audio would stay in sync.
I hope have explained that properly. If not please feel free to clarify with me
I am not familiar with JavaScript so I don't know if it could help with the above.

Hi Ian,
Thanks for sharing some additional details about what you're working on along with the .story file for me to take a look.
I'm submitting your suggestions as feature requests.
Keeping the clips in sync is the challenge. If you're willing to restart layers to do so in the meantime, it can be done.
Take a look at Slide 2 in the attached file.
Actually, you beat me to that FR! Thanks, Ian.
Thanks Leslie,
Yes one of the Articulate team, Ji Yun Bang suggested that I tried both the
community and the feature request options.
Fingers crossed that it will get picked up as I think it would open up a
lot of possibilities that cannot currently be done in Storyline.
With the kind of content I create, keeping audio keeping audio (and video)
components in sync would be a major benefit
Thanks for your help - I really appreciate it.
regards
Ian
