# of activations exceeded when I thought I uninstalled on 2nd comp

I initially installed storyline on a windows laptop- which was a loaner. I changed to a mac laptop where I installed storyline (in a VMWare) and uninstalled storyline on that loaner laptop. Now, I'm needing to install it on a secondary computer, but it's saying I've exceeded the # of activations for the license. I read in the forums that I'd have to deactivate the first install, which I thought I did, and, I no longer have access to that old windows laptop. Is there another way I can retrieve my 2nd activation?
