Opening PDF links locally in Adobe Reader.
Jul 17, 2013
Hi,
I have links to pdf files on my slides. I am creating exe files for users. They will use their own laptops to open the exe files.
The pdf links work fine, but.... I want them to open in Adobe Reader, and when I test on multiple machines they never open in Adobe Reader. Sometimes they open in Explorer, other times Firefox. I think this must be a per machine setting which says "always open pdfs with...." type statement. My question is, does anyone know where this kind of statement is. I really need the pdfs to just open in Adobe Reader to remove a step in the process.
I am aware there is a pdf plugin for web browsers, but don't wan't to use this. I would love to just know how to open the pdf in the actual software.
any help greatly appreciated. have good day all

Hi Steve
I would also like to find out how to do this. I'm creating a 'dashboard' slide in Articulate which has links to policy and procedure PDFs on our network.
Lets hope someone knows the answer :)
This is browser specific and is dependent on what viewer is set in the browser
