Pass Percent Sent to LMS vis Results Slide
Jun 18, 2014
Hi,
I have uploaded a Storyline course to an LMS with a results slide that has a pass percent of 80%. The pass requirement was changed to 70% after the SCORM package was delivered. The administrator changed the pass requirement to 70% in the LMS, resulting in a conflict between the output from Storyline and the LMS.
I spoke to a developer of the LMS and she feels that setting the percent for pass/fail belongs in the LMS and not Storyline. I've contacted support and it seems that this is hard-coded in Storyline, and any change to the pass percent in the LMS must be made in storyline.
Right now, I am simply changing the Pass Percent in Storyline to match the LMS. But it seems to me that it would be better if the author had the option of sending Pass Percent from Storyline to the LMS or vice versa.
Has anyone else encountered this? Has anyone come up with a workaround?

Hello Cam,
When you track by a results slide in your LMS, the final score will be passed over. You may want to look into tracking by number of slides viewed and see if the LMS can handle the scoring.
Hi,
2 years after, I encounter the same problem and don't find any answer. Get the passPourcent variable from the LMS to set it into my quiz parameter is what I suppose easyer to handle parameters once only.
Most LMS systems allow the system administrator to set the pass percent in the LMS. A lot of LMS systems have a built in method to allow users to build quizes directly in the LMS, so this makes sense.
But for SCORM, the SCORM specification requires the SCORM package to set the pass/fail status, To do this, you must be able to set the pass percentage in the package. SCORM specifies that the LMS package should be passive and use the information sent by the SCORM parameters.
So what is boils down to, and what I've seen in all of the LMS packages I've worked with, you need to set the pass percentage both in the SCORM package, and in the LMS. This is not only true for Storyline, but the Adobe product as well.
Thank you very much Dave. Very clear !
