pasted content shifts slightly

When I copy and paste content, images and text boxes in my case, the pasted content shifts slightly from the copied content.  I then have to go in and adjust it slightly to match the original contents position.

This causes some extra work when I want a text box with new text to appear in the same position on a slide as the earlier text that just disappeared.  My process is to copy the original text, with all the formatting in place, and then type in the new text.

Is there a way to prevent this slight shift of copied content?
