Playing Audio on base screen & layers

I am hoping someone can help...
I have a slide with 3 layers, the base layer has an image with 3 buttons each linked to a layer. On the base side there is the audio containing the instructions for the learner.
On each layer there is a separate audio clip giving more information about the area of screen the user clicked the button for.
If I click one of the buttons and move to the layer before the base layer audio is finished, I get to listen to both the remainder of the base layer as well as the layer audio at the same time.
However when I click on the refresh icon at the end of the seek bar nothing happens, the audio/animation do not replay.
Based on this I have 2 questions
- How can I ensure that the audio is only played when the screen/layer is being viewed?
- Why does the replay icon not work on these slides or what can I do so that it does work?
Once again Many Thank in advance.

1. In each of your slide layer's properties, select Pause timeline of baselayer. That will ensure that only the layer's audio plays.
2. The specifics will depend on your exact slide setup, but you should check that your slide properties have the When revisiting option set to Rest to initial state.
Hi Helen! Hope Michael's solution will work for you. Let us know if you need anything further.
