PowerPoint import problems into Storyline 3

I've been experiencing intermittent issues importing PowerPoint documents into Storyline 3 lately. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't, and I've been trying everywhere to find some kind of pattern, but I cannot. I've been to the article https://articulate.com/support/article/Articulate-Storyline-360-Failed-to-Import-PowerPoint-Presentation, but none of those issues seem to apply. Albeit I cannot check for the patch because for whatever reason, my computer is not allowing me to run Windows updates. But is there any other possible reason I could be experiencing this??? Please help! I prefer not to author right in SL, but I may have to start doing that, unfortunately...

Oh no! Sorry you're hitting a snag with the import, Jeff. We can help you nail down the root!
To start, can I confirm that you're working locally (typically the C: drive)? Working on a network drive or an external (USB) drive is known to cause wonky behavior.
Speaking of wonkiness, could you share more detail of what's happening after the import–is there an error message, lost formatting?
I am having the same issue when trying to import a PowerPoint deck into Storyline. It goes through all of the motions, but the imported slides are blank. There is a text box that gets inserted that says click here to enter text.
I am working from the local drive.
This is a rather large deck, so I don't want to recreate it all in Storyline.
I downloaded a trial copy of Storyline 360 to see if that would help, but it did the same thing. Here is a copy of the file where i uploaded a PPT slide. It doesn't matter which slides or decks that I upload. They all do the same thing.
After reading a couple of other threads on this, it seems like MS Powerpoint is the problem. I uninstalled and reinstalled a new copy and I can confirm that it is working now.
Great detective work Melanie :)
I appreciate you keeping us up to date and glad you were able to reach a resolution. Thanks for popping back in to share.
I need to mention that my issue was fixed temporarily. The version i reinstalled was not the "approved" version for my company. I had to reinstall the correct version and now it doesn't work any more. Because of this, I believe that the issue is with our version of Office and i am working with my IT department to determine the cause.
