Preventing User moving forward.

Aug 08, 2017

Hi all... I'm trying to figure out the logic for a client course menu. Currently I have three sections (scenes) that have approx 10 pages in each. Some pages have video and some not... What I'm trying to do is force the user to click the content on the page before and other pages are made available to them in the menu. IE they must not only visit the page but also click the video before being allowed to move on. The menu I have is not the default. I've been watching a few of your excellent community videos but I can't find a solution... It's pretty granular I know (sorry) but it's a requirement.

What I have so far are True / False variables on each page set to false... which is a good start. But I can't figure out how to do this to capture the video being clicked too. I hope this makes sense... Thanks all :)

Hi Mr Brown

are the videos inserted into Storyline or are you using a webobject?  If inserted into SL you could adjust the variable to true using the trigger 'when media completes', If they are webobjects I don't think there is a way to control that users have viewed all a video and to take action based on that.
