Preview of course is super zippy but the publish is taking forever. First I figured it was because of my wmv videos that it was converting to mp4 so I switched out my videos for FLVs... but now the same painfully slow progress bar says "Encoding (blah, blah, blah).mp4"...
Well interesting... I pulled up my Task Manager and find that encoder.exe is using 99% of my CPU. Lovely. It's a video heavy course but...I've seen worse. If I'm using FLV videos already and I'm only publishing for LMS... why is it encoding to mp4?
Hi, I have a similar question. Even small videos , 3 minutes, take ages. Can someone from Articulate tell me the limits. Thank you to all you volunteers, but I have platinum support so called and require the Company technicians to give me an answer as well as you guys.
I have the same problem, I have mp4 videos about 15 minutes long in total, it takes ages or even centuries to encode when publishing. More than one hour and the CPU (Core i5 VPro) runs at about 12%... and memory usage is at 43%.
There isn't a way to change the publishing speed or processing behavior. I'd look at closing down other open programs and ensure you're publishing to your local drive.

Hi!
What are your PC specs (RAM, processor speed, etc.)?
Running a lot of other programs at the same time?
Running multiple anti-virus or malware programs?

The format that gets encoded varies a bit: http://www.articulate.com/support/kb_article.php?product=st1&id=es3kzctg3aoq
I think the goal is to get the best quality video with the smallest file size: http://www.articulate.com/support/kb_article.php?product=st1&id=kt7g2dan8rtb

Hi Thomas!
This thread is pretty dated and we've had many updates and new software release since this time.
Can you let us know what version/update of Storyline you are utilizing? If you have a sample .story file that you can share, that will help as well.
As for the Platinum Support, we have no way of knowing that in the forums, and that is for those support cases that you may need to submit.

Is there any solution to speed up this process ?
Best regards,

Hi Ludovic,
