I'm a bit tired of always having to preview the preceding slides in a scene if I want to test the link between this slide and the following slides. I would like a function that says 'preview this slide and the following slides' or 'preview entire project from this slide on' or something. I'm not sure if there is a feature request thread, if so I'll add it there.
What is the issue -is it the load time or just the fact that you have to page through the previous slides to get to the one you are testing?
If it is the latter, one trick that you ca do is to turn on the menu even if you are one using it in the final output and use it to jump to the page you want.
I sometimes create a hotspot on the first screen and link it to whatever screen i want to test. I don't use the menu option much so that's what worked for me. After testing I just delete the hotspot.

Turning on the menu or creating a hotspot are all good options to prevent having to sit through your timeline before you can click next. But I would still prefer the option to simply start my preview on the selected page. The reduced loading times would obviously be welcomed.
I agree, it would be better to be able to start from a specific point. I think this feature request was made a number of times during the beta test but it did not make it into the product release. Here is hoping for next time.
I'd like to add my two cents to agree with Steffan. I'm used to the Preview options in Articulate Presenter. Thanks Nancy and Nitish for the work around ideas. It will be nice when the Preview options are improved.
I've just recently started working with Storyline and already I'm tired of having to preview the whole scene. I just want to see what works between 2 or 3 slides not everything. This would be a great feature to add.
I understand the need you are expressing but I am asking myself how it would be possible...
I have slides that link to 4, 5 or 6 topics, slides with multiple layers linking to several other slides so I wonder if it is possible to generate an overview from where you are and beyond.
It would have to analyse all the links in the actual slide and its layers, and so on for every link or destination (language barrier makes it difficult for me to express it exactly the way I would like to... sorry!)
Just wanted to point that out because to me, it looks complicated, and I think it may not be part of next release.
Just as a workaround, If you open 2 instances of Storyline, the first is your project and the second is a new project with no slides (or one slide). You can copy the slides you want to test and just preview the ones that you want. Delete the slides after testing ready for the next preview.
Yes, the inability to preview just a few slides within a scene causes problems as the choice to preview 'this slide' excludes any slide advances properties. I keep getting caught out by this in large scenes!
It would be excellent to have the preview drop-down choice as :

Hey guys,
Thanks for the feedback. Feature requests are always welcome, and you can submit them here.
Hi all,

It would be excellent to have the preview drop-down choice as :
>this slide
>slide from....to....
>this scene
Hi Mike! You can always submit that to our development team in the form of a feature request
OK, will do....
Thanks so much!
