Problem with conditionals: Can't select objects in the trigger wizard

Feb 08, 2022

Hi friends :)

I have a class with four sections. I want people to take 1-3 in any order and then section 4. I want to make the link to section 4 clickable after sections 1,2, and 3 are visited. I feel like I have done this before in the trigger wizard by clicking on objects and saying when the state of whatever is visited, this other thing becomes clickable. Only now, I can't click on objects (or windows) in the trigger wizard. I tried adding a shape and telling the shape to go away after the first three things are visited, but I still can't select objects to do any sort of conditional with states. Any hints on why I can't select objects to work with my states as conditionals?

Not sure about what you see, it may have to do with the objects available to you for that trigger. Here's how I'd set it up.

You want 1-3 to be clicked anytime. But 4 can only be clicked when the first three are all visited.

  • Add a visited state to the buttons.
  • Add a disabled state to button 4. Set that to the initial state.
  • Add a trigger to change the state of button 4 when the states of 1-3 are visited.

I appreciate the replies all. Yes, I know I should click "objects" - my problem was that the objects and windows tabs were unclickable. They still are, but I was able to copy and paste a trigger from a previous class, then modify to get what I needed. It's pretty much Tom's trigger pic.

I would love to know why my objects tab is unclickable, but since I found a workaround, I can also accept this is a mystery that may never be solved.

Hi James,

Glad you're able to use the good ol' copy/paste to get what you need - and as much as I enjoy a good mystery, I'd love to have our team figure out why you can't click on those sections of the trigger panel.

If you're able to connect with our Support Team by opening a case here, we'll do a little digging around with you to see what's up!
