Problem with Data Entry box when publishing to HTML5 only.

Feb 09, 2017

I'm trying out Storyline 360 and publishing to HTML only, with Google Chrome as my browser. Our LMS runs in Google Chrome, so we're not able to use another browser. I need to use Data Entry boxes to input data and advance to the next slide by pressing the enter key, if the data that's entered is correct. This worked okay when previously publishing to flash with Storyline 2. When publishing to HTML5 only, you have to press the enter key twice to advance to the next slide. Is there a way this can be done with only pressing the enter key once?

Thanks, Linda for all your help tracking this down and sharing example files.

Today we released Storyline 360, build 3.21.17083.0 which included a fix for the issue where:

  • Learners had to press the Enter key twice to submit data-entry field responses and advance to the next slide in HTML5 output.

The same fix will be included in a future update of Storyline 3 (release date TBD) so we'll keep you posted on that here!

Let us know if you have any other questions, we're here to help.

Hi, Brian. So sorry you've come across this oddity in your project.

No ETA as of yet, but we promise to share all updates here once we have them and to update our Storyline 3 Version History page.

You're in the right place to stay up to date on any new information, and here's a glimpse at how we tackle bugs when they're reported!
