Does Articulate Storyline have a mechanism to pull in outside files as needed? I'm concerned about the overall size of the final published module if it needs to include all files instead of being able to dynamically pull in files as needed (as Flash allows you to do). Any information would be appreciated!
Not sure this would work for you, but if you want to cut down on the actual project size you could use web objects for those items. Only catch is, they'll need to be hosted online in order to do this. If that's not a problem, though, it would definitely help with the file size of your courses.

Linking rather than embedding (other than as a web oject) isn't currently available though it would be an awesome addition.
Maybe this thread is helpful: http://community.articulate.com/forums/p/22050/121552.aspx#121552. It's not so much about keeping a published size down but to make the editing process more streamlined.
