Rename screen recordings?

Hi Gerry and welcome to Heroes!

When you start a new screen recording, you'll have the option to rename it just prior to inserting it as you'll see here:

Type a name for your recording in the Name field that appears above the recording.

The ability to rename a screencast that you've already inserted, is not currently available, and has been reported to our QA team.

Hi Tina,

Thanks for reaching out here and this issue does still exist, although currently noted as only in Storyline 1 - I'm not sure I'm experienced it yet in Storyline 2. I did a quick test, and I was able to rename it within that field in Storyline 2 Update 7.

Hi Michelle,

Within Storyline 2 you have two options to rename the screen recordings. 

1. When you record and choose to insert a screen recording you can first change the name at the top of the "insert window" as shown here where Healthy Habits is listed:

2. If you'd like to change how it appears on the timeline for only certain slides you can do so by right clicking on the "screen recording" item on your timeline and choosing "rename" and that will rename the item on the left hand side of the timeline.
