Reset Stand-Alone Numeric Entry Upon Incorrect Input
Aug 05, 2020
Sorry if this is answered somewhere, but I have not come across a solution. I am trying to figure out a way to reset a numeric entry immediately if the user enters an incorrect value (after losing focus). This is a stand-alone field on a non-question slide.
Below is what I've set up, but it is not working. I suspect the variable might be in a circular logic loop? I tried moving the second trigger up, but that did not make a difference.
When Numeric Entry loses focus
- Set NumericEntry7 equal to the typed value
- Set NumericEntry7 equal to value 0
- If NumericEntry7 [not equal to] value .5
I have additional triggers that do certain things when the value DOES equal .5. Those are working as expected. I tried moving the second trigger to the end of those triggers, but that did not make a difference.
Thanks!

I suspect the trigger is firing before the variable has been updated.
Thanks, Phil. It appears that is the case. So I guess the question is how to keep that from happening.
This seems to work.
It does indeed, Tom! Thank you!
