Restarting a screen in Storyline
May 22, 2013
I have put in a number of screens that each use a sequence of speech bubbles that appear and disappear as a conversation plays out.
I wanted to supply a 'Replay screen' button on the affected screens, so that if the learner misses a part of the conversation they can start again from the beginning of the screen.
I've tried jusing a trigger to jump to the same slide, but this doesn't work.
I also realise that I could put in a button to allow the learner to progress the slide as each part of the conversation builds, but I would prefer not to use that method.
Any ideas, Storyliners?
Thanks,
Martin

Hey Martin!
How about using a "Show layer" trigger? You can use a "Show layer" trigger to replay a layer that's already displayed. Here's how.
Think that'll work?
Hi there Martin,
What are the revisiting settings for the slide? If you haven't already, try using the option for "Reset to initial state". This, along with the trigger you're using to jump to the same slide, should start the slide all over again, from the beginning.
If you're having any trouble with this, you're welcome to share the .STORY file here. I'd be happy to take a look and see if I can get this to work properly for you.
Thanks!
Thank you, Peter and Christine!
I tried Christine's solution and it worked perfectly!
Best wishes
Martin
